Lifelike Dolls Magazine
I have always been addicted to house magazines which show you how other people make their houses look like homes or like picture postcards, or even in a lot of cases, like something out of a film set. I like to pick bits from here, and bits from there and add them together to try and make my own style. I have never consciously put into practice what I have learnt but I do enjoy dreaming of what my ideal home would be like and I guess some of the information has rubbed off on me over the years.
Lifelike Dolls magazine is like that. It has a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a whole lot of the necessary information
required to make or collect the items for a beautiful reborn doll. If you are an experienced reborner or collector you could submit photos or an article of your successes and your failures (I am sure there are some that you are not quite so happy about). If you are new to the art, all the information you could possibly require is here in these pages.
Perhaps you are having trouble rooting the hair onto your doll or once it is in place you really do not know how to cut it so it looks really natural. I mean, face it, wool strands that have been sewn onto a vinyl head are hardly likely to look like a little baby’s hair are they? Something has to be done to make it look more natural. All the info is here at your fingertips.
You can ask questions and receive answers to them, pick up patterns of clothing to dress your doll in and there are tips galore. If you want to go to a doll show to see other people’s work on display, the dates and venues will be in this magazine.
There are step by step tutorials about almost any subject relating to doll making and collecting.
Really, it is a marvel, and if there is something you want to be in it but cannot find, let them know and they will do their utmost to include that subject in a future issue. Lifelike Dolls Magazine is a magazine about reborning and sculpting and is published every second month. They accept articles, photos, etc. from reborn artists, sculptors, collectors and writers from anywhere in the world. A reborn doll made in New Zealand for example follows much the same form as one made in Scandinavia so it matters not where you live, all the information is here at your fingertips or you can submit your information for the benefit of everyone else.
And if you want a bit of relaxation, there are loads of puzzles and things to do included in every issue.
